Ethylene oligomerization on nickel catalysts on a solid acid support: From New mechanistic insights to tunable bifunctionality

چکیده

Light alkene oligomerization on heterogeneous acidic catalysts is widely and successfully used in current commercial processes. However, ethylene remains inefficient due to ethylene’s inability form reaction intermediates a sufficient extent acid sites. Adding Ni(II) solid acids can more efficiently catalyze selectively produce butenes fuel range products. The review proposes complete detailed mechanism of heterogenous Ni-catalyzed oligomerization, whose structures are supported by combining various studies throughout recent literature, focuses the bifunctional effects nickel sites oligomerization. Using experiments, first-principles calculations, kinetic modeling, Ni2+ has been shown oligomerize light, linear alkenes via Cossee-Arlman mechanism, while Brønsted H+ further alkylation, cracking, isomerization reactions. conditions catalyst properties selectivity activity for systematically discussed. Tuning relative nickel-to-acid site ratio framework support allow an optimal design directed towards desirable

Intelligent catalysts for ethylene oligomerization and polymerization

EEthylene polymerization catalysts became available in an enormous variety. The challenge in this research is to find catalysts that are able to connect ethylene molecules in such a way that not only linear chains are produced but variations like branched materials that possess very interesting mechanical properties like linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE). In this contribution, three diffe...

Nickel and Palladium Complexes with New Phosphinito - Imine Ligands and Their Application as Ethylene Oligomerization Catalysts

Phosphinito-imines, a new class of P,N donors, are readily generated by reaction of bulky arylamide anions [RCONAr] (R = Me or t-Bu; Ar = 2,6-i-Pr2C6H4) with chlorophosphines ClP(R)2. In solution, free phosphinito-imines exist in equilibrium with the corresponding amidophosphine tautomers, containing a nitrogen-bound P(R)2 group. However, reacting the tautomer mixtures with metal precursor comp...

Insights into the effect of vanadium on chromium-vanadium Phillips catalysts for the ethylene polymerization

The chromium/vanadium bimetallic Phillips catalysts developed by our research group have been proved to be a promising process to produce bimodal polyethylene using a single-reactor process. The vanadium loading of CrV-1/1, CrV-1/2, and CrV-1/3 has a significant effect on the polymerization activity, product molecular weight (MW), as well as th...

Identification of active Zr-WO(x) clusters on a ZrO2 support for solid acid catalysts.

Tungstated zirconia is a robust solid acid catalyst for light alkane (C(4)-C(8)) isomerization. Several structural models for catalytically active sites have been proposed, but the topic remains controversial, partly because of the absence of direct structural imaging information on the various supported WO(x) species. High-angle annular dark-field imaging of WO(3)/ZrO(2) catalysts in an aberra...
